August Audiobook Roundup

I’ve struggled to get into audiobooks for a while now and you may remember my memoir binge a few months ago. At the beginning of August, I downloaded Scrib’d on a whim. It was the best decision I made all month. (Mostly..I also met Delia Owens and have her to thank for my new favorite book.) I want to read all the books I’ve been seeing on Goodreads, but know that thanks to my beautifully stressful stack of ARCs..well, that time will likely never come. I figured it couldn’t hurt to try listening instead so I downloaded Scrib’d expecting to be underwhelmed. BOY was I wrong!

36219719Love and Other Words by Christina Lauren

I absolutely devoured this book. I wanted to listen every chance I got. The narration, the characters, the love story..everything! The ending tore my heart out in a way only a bookworm can understand. If you’re not an audio person, I highly recommend starting with this book!

36374451When Life Gives You Lululemons by Lauren Weisberger

I’ve read Lauren Weisberger before and she’s a pro at chick-lit. I enjoyed the drama and wit I found in this audiobook. The narration was great and the narrator really hit the nail on the head with her jokes and the character personalities! This was a fun read that made you excited to root for the characters.

34467909Roomies by Christina Lauren

With this pick, I was a bit bored for the first 15-20%. It was mostly build-up and character background but it wasn’t capturing my attention like I needed. Luckily, I was gardening while it was playing so as time went on, it got better! I’m glad my hands were too dirty to turn the story off! Full disclosure: I’m in love with Calvin. And KC Sheridan can do a wicked Irish accent.

32895522Dating You, Hating You by Christina Lauren

This audio is a bit different: there is a male AND a female narrator! If you’ve read The Hating Game, Dating You, Hating You is a bit similar, but only in the love/hate relationship with a coworker. I loved a lot of things about these characters but mostly how funny everything was. HIGHLY recommend!

That’s a wrap! Now get your ears on and listen to these gems so you too can feel this joy!

Happy Reading (and listening!)
