Herding Cats by Sarah Andersen – Book Review

I’m not going to lie, Ramsey was a little jealous when I told him I was planning on reading and reviewing a book entitled Herding Cats… Fortunately, once I showed him how fantastic Sarah Andersen is, he was quick to get on board even though felines were mentioned.

24883492._SY540_So who is Sarah Andersen?  Sarah is a 20-something cartoonist living in Brooklyn, and she has released 2 fantastic comic books that are completely relatable to any one who has ever mentally kicked themselves for saying, “You, too!” when the ticket collector says, “Enjoy your movie!”… Come on now, I know that’s not just me.  Her second book, Big Mushy Happy Lump, was actually the Goodreads Choice 2017 winner, so if you haven’t heard of her until now, you need to remedy that situation immediately.

Sarah tackles true life “daily struggles” as I like to think of them, such as insisting that you’re only going to read one more page (let’s face it, you obviously know that’s a lie) or hitting your pinky toe on an end table (when you wonder whether it would be less painful to just cut off your toe than deal with that agony). Her sketches are so incredibly relatable, quirky, and witty, and  I completely flew through the book within less than an hour, just to reread it again.

In short, Sarah Andersen is my spirit animal and if you’re looking for a comic that makes you say “yaaaaaaas that’s SO. ME.”, then Herding Cats is made for you.  Get your copy on March 27th at all major retailers!  Thank you so much to the publisher for providing me with an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.  It is truly my privilege to share my honest thoughts and opinions.
