My Favorite Half-Night Stand by Christina Lauren – Book Review

When I first started reading Christina Lauren books, I quickly realized that these were fun and easy and quick reads that would bring anyone out of a book slump. Whether you’re listening via audio or flipping through the pages, Christina Lauren books are always a go-to recommendation!

38357345We can all read a Goodreads synopsis but here’s a quick (spoiler-free) recap: Millie Morris is the lone female in a group of best friends. An upcoming event sends the group into the online dating world in their search for dates. The problem: Millie and one of the guys, Reid, have a secret steamy hook-up and neither one of them are sure what it means. While the group continues their search for plus-ones, Millie and Reid are caught in tangled emotions. In a weird turn on the usual romance problems, Millie has a hard time with commitment but doesn’t have a problem chatting online with Reid under a different name. Dun Dun Dunnn…

While categorized as a contemporary romance, Christina Lauren has broken the mold once more with the modern twist on the complicated romance. I loved the witty banter and text message conversations. The portrayal of the awful world of online dating is completely realistic…I was lucky enough to find my husband in that mess (#Tinderella, y’all) but there were lots of other creeps out there too! I did find the main character Millie a little annoying in the beginning but by the end, she came around for me. While the whole book was fairly predictable, it was a fun and enjoyable ride getting to a fantastic ending.

Thanks to Netgalley, I got to read My Favorite Half-Night Stand before the Pub Day and I’ve been telling everyone to pre-order this bad boy. On shelves today, get your copy here!

Be sure to check out Christina Lauren’s other books that I’ve read and loved.
